What to Budget for a Guided Deer Hunt in North Carolina

When you compare guided deer hunting prices in North Carolina, the package rate is a useful starting point. A complete budget also needs to account for your license, travel, food, and any optional services you choose. Knowing those numbers before you reserve makes it easier to select a trip you will enjoy without stretching your budget.
Here is how to build that budget around our deer hunting packages at Pure Adrenaline Outfitters in Johnston County. Prices below are current as of October 27, 2026. Confirm rates, availability, and booking terms with us before making plans.
Choose your deer hunting package
Our North Carolina deer hunting packages are currently priced per hunter as follows:
| Package | Current price per hunter | Lodging arrangements |
|---|---|---|
| One-day buck hunt | $450 | Confirm any lodging needs separately |
| Two-day buck hunt | $900 | Included |
| Three-day buck hunt | $1,350 | Included |
These are our advertised package prices. Your complete trip budget will depend on the other costs you add below. Our two- and three-day packages include lodging. Confirm the covered nights, meal arrangements, and what you should bring with us before booking.
When choosing a length, look at the whole trip. A one-day hunt has the lowest package cost, while a longer package may make more sense if you are already setting aside time and money for a substantial drive. Choose the schedule that fits your circumstances rather than treating the price alone as the deciding factor.
Add licensing as its own expense
North Carolina hunting licenses and tags are not included in our package prices. Put licensing on your budget as a separate line before deciding what you can spend on optional extras.
Use the NC Wildlife Resources Commission's current license information to check the option appropriate for your residency and planned hunt, including the relevant big-game privileges. Confirm the amount through the official purchase process.
If you are organizing a group, each hunter should verify their own requirements. Avoid using one person's license price as an automatic estimate for everybody. Check the current hunting regulations, too, so the dates and activities you budget for match the hunt you can legally take.
Work out travel costs before selecting your package
Estimate the journey from your actual starting point. For a driving trip, include fuel, tolls where applicable, food stops, and any overnight accommodation you plan to use along the way. If several hunters are sharing a vehicle, decide how those expenses will be divided.
If you intend to fly, price the entire journey, including ground transportation and any applicable baggage charges. Confirm travel-provider requirements before committing to that option. A quoted airfare alone will not describe the full travel budget.
Keep your arrival and departure plans flexible until we confirm them with you. An additional hotel night can change the comparison between packages, especially when traveling a long distance.
Check what your lodging arrangements cover
For the packages that include lodging, get the covered nights and check-in arrangements in writing. Ask about any extra night you may need and whether it is available before adding it to your itinerary.
Our hunting lodge has kitchen facilities. If you plan to bring groceries, confirm how food storage and meal preparation will work during your stay. Do not assume groceries, prepared meals, or restaurant visits are included in the hunt price.
Bring up nonhunting companions while discussing the reservation. Ask for their current charges and confirm available space. A companion's costs should appear in the group budget even when that person is not purchasing a hunt.
Separate skinning and quartering from full processing
As of October 27, 2026, we offer skinning and quartering at $50 per deer or pig. This is a separate service. It should not be read as a price for complete meat processing, packaging, taxidermy, or shipping.
Ask what service you would receive, when it would be completed, and whether you need to make other arrangements. If you want further processing, obtain a separate quote from the provider that would perform it. Also consider any transport supplies or arrangements you may need.
For example, a currently listed $900 two-day package plus one $50 skinning-and-quartering service totals $950. That is an illustrative subtotal for those two items only. It excludes licensing, travel, meals, and any other charges, and it assumes the optional service is actually used.
Use a simple budget worksheet
Keep confirmed prices separate from estimates. This makes it easier to update your plan as answers come in.
| Budget item | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Hunting package | Current confirmed price multiplied by the number of hunters |
| Licenses and privileges | Each hunter's verified cost |
| Travel | Fuel or airfare, ground transport, and applicable travel charges |
| Additional accommodation | Any nights outside the confirmed package |
| Food | Planned groceries and meals |
| Optional services | Confirmed charges for the services you may choose |
| Personal extras | Your own allowance for incidental expenses and any gratuity |
For a group, mark which expenses are shared and which belong to individual hunters. Agree on reimbursement before someone pays a group bill.
Confirm payment terms and expectations
Before reserving, ask about any deposit, the balance due date, accepted payment methods, applicable taxes or fees, and cancellation or rescheduling terms. Those answers determine when you need the money available and what happens if plans change.
We operate a fair-chase hunting service, and a shot opportunity or harvest is not guaranteed. Your budget should support a trip you want to take with that understanding.
